This stunning mountain home is a blend of midcentury modern and new modernist Italian style, designed by Design Associates Architects in Jackson, Wyoming. Boasting breathtaking views of the Grand Tetons through expansive windows, this architectural masterpiece offers four guest bedroom suites. This home serves as an inviting retreat for owner’s children and their extended family. Material elements incorporated into the design of this dwelling’s minimalist architecture includes steel, concrete and reclaimed wood.
This fabulous mountain home offers a bright and airy interior layout that is conducive to family gathering. Expansive walls of glass showcases picture perfect views of the Grand Tetons from seemingly every angle throughout this home. The spacious great room features intimate and cozy spaces for daily activities that can be enjoyed throughout the seasons—with those views!! We are loving the pops of color and cozy loft space.
The interior color palette was inspired by a trip to the homeowners took to the Dolomites, a mountain range located in northeastern Italy: a mix of rusts, warm neutrals and grays. A dual-sided floor-to-ceiling fireplace creates a dramatic statement in the great room. The fireplace also helps to create a visual delineation within this bright and spacious layout. Furniture selections are a nod to the home’s minimalist architecture.
The bright orange Egg Chairs by Fritz Hansen provides a pop of color against the gray and slate backdrop.
Interior designer Shannon White Design has grouped furnishings throughout this mountain home into “islands of activity”. This includes the reading nook as pictured above, which is on the other side of the great room.
On one side of the fireplace is the kitchen/living/dining areas, while the family room is on the other. Walls of glass line both sides of the rooms, framing magnificent mountain vistas.
Hovering above the PK54 marble dining table by Fritz Hansen is the Moon Pendant by Alison Berger Glassworks. The Eames Molded Plywood Dining Chairs adds to the mid-century aesthetic.
A loft overlooks the kitchen/living area, offering an idyllic hideaway for children. This space includes rollaway trundle beds. The framed glass windows are operable for when the homeowners would like to have these spaces connected. When not in use, this space can be completely closed off, including the trap door and windows using blackout curtains.
Suspended over the kitchen island are glass pendant lights by Allison Berger Glassworks.
White walls in this mountain home serves as a backdrop to the homeowner’s collection of contemporary artwork and glass sculptures.
All four of this home’s guest bedroom suites offers en-suite bathrooms. Each space also includes a queen murphy bed and a built-in window seat framing picturesque views of the Grand Teton Mountain range. Each room also features its own color palette, making them easily identifiable.
Each of the bedrooms features blackout and light-filtering roller shades or open-weave linen curtains. The curtains not only adds warmth but helps for sound attenuation.
In the master bathroom, behind a soaking tub is a large window framing tranquil mountain views. This allows one to feel like they are bathing in nature.
